Croydon ‘Our Space’ is supported by a group of local professional and community organisations including: Croydon Drop In, Croydon Methodist Circuit, Jam Total Sport, New Addington Pathfinders, Mighty Men of Valour, Old Lodge Lane Baptist Community Church, Longheath Church and Community Centre, Shawfire CIC, Old Town Youth Club and Oasis Academy Reylands.

Together Play Place and our partners are delivering a strong community constructed offer using a number of delivery strands. We are supporting 14 deprived neighbourhoods in Croydon and delivering 17 weekly sessions (Rising to 20 by 2019).

The project strands include:

  • Developing accredited volunteering and mentoring opportunities
  • Planting new estate based youth and community activities
  • Supporting health and well being outcomes for young people and volunteers.

The project has recruited 50 volunteers and is working with 25 partners (Including agencies, churches, residents associations and community groups) and we are working with 1,200 registered members. 

The scheme provides universal and targeted opportunities for children and young people that offer a broad range of activities including:

  • Universal estate based youth projects
  • Jam Total Sport outreach sessions
  • Health and well being outreach activities
  • Young leader and adult volunteer training 
  • The Mighty Men of Valour – Young men’s peer mentoring training
  • Talent Match - working with unemployed people (18-24)
  • Young Women's Health project
  • Out of School CABs (Croydon Auto Bike Scheme)
