At first glance, these two subjects may not appear to be natural partners but
in the CABS motorbike project, we have built up an excellent reputation for
engaging with the most hard to reach young people, and using motorbike
maintenance and riding as a platform for discussing young people’s life
choices with them; aiming to help them break the cycle of anti-social
behaviour and criminal activity.
We are able to offer a range of courses and sessions - but we provide
activity sessions which are designed to go at the pace suitable for the
group, a day trip to our off-road motorbike track plus life skills and ready-
The length of course depends on our clients’ needs but we offer ‘track taster
sessions’, ‘Bike and Barbecue days’ alongside a 12-week accredited course. We
also have a post-course drop-in group which meets at Wayside.
We work with local youth offending teams, schools, pupil referral units, social
services departments and an increasing number of young people contact us
